The A-type riser sleeves are high-pressure, low-density feeder systems designed to improve the quality of the cast iron molding. They are made from a composition of thermites, flux, and refractory materials – enhances their exothermic reactions. Designed for optimal thermal retention, these feeders extend the feeding distance beyond conventional sand mold exothermic sleeves. Insulation materials used in A-type sleeves minimize heat loss from the molten metal, reducing the likelihood of defects such as cold shuts and ensuring high-quality casting.

Advantages of SEFU's A-type Feeder Sleeves
- Economical for high-volume production.
- Customizable upon request to suit the materials being fed into the reservoir.
- Designed to withstand high-pressure and thermal stresses.
- Low gas output, good air permeability, and high fire resistance.
Features & Benefits
The low-density refractory component is used to retain thermal energy for extended periods, facilitating linear feeding from the reservoir into the casting.
- Combined with thermal insulation materials and heating agents that are pollution-free for alloys, it prevents impurities from entering the molten metal, maintaining high purity and quality.
- With a refractoriness close to 1770°C, the sleeve remains stable under extreme temperatures without deforming or losing its shape.
- The feeding distance of SEFU’s A-type riser sleeve is greater than that of ordinary sand mold exothermic sleeves, allowing the liquified metal to feed across a larger casting area.
- The low-density sleeves reduce heat loss while offering excellent thermal conductivity.
- SEFU’s casting sleeves are carefully packed to prevent contamination and wrapped in multiple layers to ensure safe shipping.
Application
- Fittings – elbows, tees, and flanges
- Manifolds
- Engine blocks, and heads
- Engine mounts and brackets
- Cast iron valves
